thats not toooo bad of a air temp variance...........

Try 29C to 8C here last week i think it was, over a 36 hr period.

Yu're in a bit of a pickle! here its the low night temps that kill the water temp, you can compensate somewhat by stopping the pump over night as a huge about of heat transfer is done by the beds. the plants don't really need the water as much as its night time. But you've got the opposite problem!

I think a large volume tank is the easiest long term solution

hello partener :)

Its like this, the bigger the fish tank gnash here gets the less time he will spend rooting around with it, trying to get the temperature stable.

Also, he will spend less time on the internet trying to make temporary fixes that don't end up working and cost you money.

So to summise

more gnash time for you
less unhappy gnash

all for the tiny price of a bigger water tank.

:)

Its like this, the bigger the fish tank gnash here gets the more time he will spend rooting around with it, trying to feed the fish and putting more and more grow beds on.

Also, he will spend more time on the internet trying to make new flood and drain contraptions.

So to summise

less gnash time for you

all for the tiny price of a bigger water tank.

Due to the amount of water evaporation I sometime take the sprinkler hose from the swampy(evaporative air con) on the roof and place it in the system to add water. It only waters the lawn anyway and I don`t eat lawn(exept after to much rum) For those who don`t know the bleed of from the swampy stops the build up of liegonairs/bad stuff in the lower tank.

Can never get enough silicon Ell :D

Dang there are some big bugs in your world. Looks like an Alaskan King Crab vs. Mothra.

I agree with Stee on the larger volume. Also insulate and house tank indoors (if possible). OR... build a small shed like enclosure. Bigger is not always better in one respect.... it takes longer for water temp to decrease but also takes lots of energy to increase temp also. Best method is "preventative" temp fluxuations by building climate controled housing.
