Just a couple of points the reason for 1 goldfish is unless you know where everything came from you mite have contamination [its better to kill a $1.00 goldfish than $50.00 fish that took 3 hrs to get] also there pump came from a farm [it may have come from a scrap dealer] the grow beds came from a scrap dealer [what were they used for!] with a bit and piece system theres so many variables

That's one of the benefits of buying a BYAP kit system.... all clean, food grade components... tried,tested... and near full proof...

Just wondering if I got the amount of salt right - how many ppm do folks use?

2nd hand pump had been pumping rainwater for several months onto a vegie garden, so should have been fairly clean.
Stainless steel beds had been cleaned.

Yes, could have bought a ready made system, but can't help trying to DYI, it's in the blood..

Never thought I'd eat a carrot from an aquaponic system...very tasty.

And as for beer, (which I don't even usually drink), it was damn tasty! Thanks F&F! :flower:

1000ppm (1ppt) generally kept in the water seems to keep fish happy and healthy.
