The fry have started swimming around and the bulk of them survived. I crush pellets into powder and throw on the surface for them even though they are still very young, figured it wouldnt hurt. All the plants and other fish seem to be doing well. Once problem im having now is im seeing algea starting to form on the top layer of rocks because my barrels flood too high. I think ill end up cutting the U siphon and adding a coupler so i can adjust it down an inch or so.

Ive been thinking of building another system for profit, selling to restaurants and such. Ive got my hands on two big dome greenhouses and need to recover them. Does anyone know a place to get the screen shade in bulk? Im going to need a lot!!

Hey there, can't help you with your shade cloth - but try a nursery demolition.

I just saw your milk bottle labels - just a heads up they fade over a growing season - I use plastic horizontal blinds cut up.

Thanks for that Jayendra. I am going to have to move to Miami for work and cant expand my system as planned. Im hoping my dad will be able to take care of my current set up in my absence.

Here is a little update. The fry are doing good and eat well, however, they are pretty easy to spook. I guess thats normal though. All the plants are doing ok but i think there was a problem with my rocks having some concrete dust of them and the plants didnt really care for that. I also think my barrels were filling too fast and the plants needed more oxygen so i just removed one of the fill hoses. I transplanted a few plants in th-1 soil when i was thinning my grow beds just so i could have something to compare to and the plants in the soil are actually doing better than the ones in the grow bed even with me not watering them the way i should! Go figure. Must be that cement dust on the rocks.

These are cucumber, tomato, and okra that was started in the grow beds at the same time as the others and transplanted to soil.

Everything is looking great! Wish my tilapia were glad to see me... Spoiled living under two rafts of kang kong; always hiding when it comes time to feed.

I was also thinking the ones in the pot may be a little bigger because they are in direct sunlight and the grow beds are under a heavy shade screen.

The growth continues, except for my cucumber plant. I accidentally got snagged on the braided line it was growing on and pulled it out of the grow bed breaking a bunch of roots so it didn't like that too much. The tomato, okra, and cucumber plants that i put outside in direct sunlight and rich th-1 soil have already started flowing.
