Hi BK just looked at your inground tank... how did you get the liner to look so neat at the corners ?

I folded them like you would wrap a present.

The system has been running for a week and the gravel in my growbed has compacted and now at the water line. But I'm ready to plant but now I need to wash more gravel  My plan for the weekend "Plant the seeds" :D after washing gravel

Awesome little babies!!! That's great that he overshipped, too. The weather is starting to cool down. He's probably facing waaay too many ponds outside stocked with little fishies-destined-to-be-popsicles!!

Bkausfish,
I read through your post but I did not see what I was looking for. What did you use as your liner? Was it just regular 6 mil. plastic? or something else?

Thanks,
Mathew

Tell me you're kidding...only $23 to ship you 30 tilapia from Virginia to Arizona?!?!? (That's nearly coast to coast for those less familiar with US geography) Or is the "Misc" $51.21 the shipping charge? Either way, it's a good deal.

The total including shipping was $32 for the fish that only $1.07 per fish

That's pretty good BKF, I have over $900 and not as much volume as you have. I can get gravel from a local sand and gravel place and as long as I act casual ("I just need to fill up some planters" is the standard line) and only ask for 50 gallons or less I can get gravel for $2.

What are your pump specs and where did you get it?

Rio 1400 submersible AQUARIUM pump 420 GPH

I got it because it only said 27watts of power and at 4ft puts out 243gph and it is working in my system so far. If the power rating is correct it should only cost ~$35 per year to run 24/7.

One more thing; I forgot to add in the time but I must say it was fun doing all the work

2 vacation days, 1 holiday, 1-2hr after work 2-3night a week and 4 weekends of labor.

The plants are starting to pop up :D

Hi Bkausfish,

I love this setup. Would you mind sharing the wood joints you used on the grow bed. And is there any formwork on the fisk tank area that is below ground? also what sizes you used for the flood/drain auto siphon.

Thanks
