Wow, I missed this one too!!!!!

Janet's thread taught me much back in the beginning, miss having here online with us.

As did OBO's Home system thread. I got to learn not to use pipes filled with gravel from him rather than trying that one myself.

And GotFish? with his midwest greenhouse, I used that as an example thread to send people to when they asked about doing aquaponics in a cold climate.

Was it one of Aquamad's threads where he tried all sorts of ways of heating including coils of tubing in the compost and black tubing up in the top of the greenhouse. That was educational to read about.

And Food&Fish's systems were an inspiration.

And Jaymie's system thread was a good long one to read through back when I was first learning.

Now I want to give special mention to a couple of people that I don't know if I ever read their "system threads" if they even had them but they provided much useful information. Ell Kay Bee (and the Gates of Ell) and Steve of course for all the info in the basic and useful info sections that taught me much of what I needed to know getting started. And well of course Joel, for setting the whole place up in the first place so I could get to learn about aquaponics explained in a fashion that I could believe it would work.

And the truth is there are so many informative useful member system threads out there depending on what you are wanting to do/learn. There are swimming pool system threads that I send people to if they are wanting to convert a swimming pool. There is OBO's commercial system thread with all the IBC's. There are the really good looking installs I've seen. Creative 1 has some great threads as does Rupert of Oz and the list goes on.............

I don't think I would be able to choose just a few and I've not had the time to spend doing as much reading here lately as I used to so I'm sure I'm missing out on some really good stuff.

Sigh.

My god! Picking a favorite? I have probably linked to DecalsbyJT's thread a million times. He has been inspiring. Every thread that was mentioned in the IBC of aquaponics.

Okay, here is an APPROXIMATE! running total (cut me some slack..it was done on an iPhone). I will confirm and add links to the list at a later stage.

If a person was given votes for more than one of their threads, I lumped them under one tally. If someone posted multiple links to a single persons thread I tried to treat it as one vote. I split one vote between C1 and trout by the water fall, as I was not sure which one the person was voting for.

Edit - I didn't count various votes submitted by Charlie, since he doesn't know how to follow the rules/poll :P

I'm actually surprised that Jaymie's thread did not score higher :(

With the revival of this thread and with DrLuke providing a tally I thought I would link to as many systems threads I could find that have been mentioned here to make it easier for new members to find them (and all the great information and ideas they contain).

Sorry for the ones I haven't got to yet - will search for some more later.

Lol. I forgot to say that I didn't count self votes :P.

Although you own the site, so you could scam one of your mods to go back and enter a few "Joel" votes into some of the threads ;)

Last I heard from VB... Les was OK... but both himself and wife had some health issues....

I don't think he rebuilt his system, or at least all of it.... after getting smashed by a storm...

But yeah... EllKayBee... is another favourite....
