Hey spindog if you're talking about the demo system then yes that used a water bridge which works because the pipe has water and no air in it, so when the level on one side changes water will flow through it to equalize. I would only use this technique on a non-critical system, because I'd worry non-stop about losing the siphon and so spilling all the water that was pumped.
