Well Done some more Mods today, Been running mostly CF due to not enough water turnover per hour on F&D. With only a 40mm SLO on the system i wasnt able to ramp up the incoming flow without the tank overflowing, so i had enough bits n pieces laying around to add an additional slo to the tank and fire up another pump to get twice the flow running through the tank.

Still running CF at the moment as iv stressed the fish out a little when i was drilling and banging etc putting the new SLO in, however they dont seem too phased.

Heres a Couple of Vids of the system and trout.

The barrels you have pinned together working out alright? Do they leak at all? Would you do it again the same way?

They never leak, Just have 40mm fittings on them all, 3 in total, never had an issue with them at all, cheap sumps all in all.....

They are setup in a chain style, The one where the beds drain into, is linked to the next that is then linked to the one down under the FT that has the pumps in it.

Other than next time i build a system it will be far too big to have barrels as sumps, i would defiantly do it again.

Not really, growbeds rarely put out solids, and everything is under cover so nothing from the elements get in there

Double dip minor hsm this weekend, my pup got into my shadehouse and somehow knocked a drain off the edge of the sump so it was dumping on the ground, i noticed sump was very low and went investigationing......

Then tonight Brother in law brang his husky/malamute (dunno which one it is) over and it knocked one of my pump lines off and she was pumping water over the yard...... dogs covered in mud through the back door when my son opened the door and i hear DAD!!!!!!!!!!!! THERES WATER EVERYWHERE!!!!

Might do a spot of mesh fencing tomorrow to keep these dish lickers away from my pipes....

Someone on this forum had the suggestion of using a screw to hold the fitting together rather than using glue or leaving them pushed together.
My drains are mostly just pushed together but held up with straps for when the kids "forget" that they can't be standing on them to see what's in the growbeds.
Just can't seem to force myself to use a screw to hold a pipe onto a fitting.
