You did an awesome job. I wish I had the room to build one like yours. I am actually turning our swimming pool into a Aquaponic Pond. Will post pics soon. Great job.

All the plants are motoring along, although I have not spent as much time as i would have liked on the system this season :( . I didn't get the extra beds in or the new 3000l tank.
Tommies are having a second burst of growth and are bigger than last year. Unfortunately the possums things that it is their personal play ground. Speaking of possums, all my rockies except for 3 (which were absolutely fantastic flavor) have been eaten out by them. :upset:
we haven't purchased a lettuce in 3 years (which isn't bad for a family of 6)
The Ceylon spinach went mad again but the silvers love it so I don't feel so bad throwing it out. In fact most of the green waste go to the silvers rather than the chooks now.

How is your new place going Ryan? Have you got everything up and running?
PS the war office gave me permission to get a 2m tank for inside, which I will fill with Malawi Haps and Peacocks  The downside is I have to get rid of my small tanks.

Thanks Loanshark, best of luck with your pool system.

Great to hear the plants are doing their jobs! I am hoping to have a system that performs too. Its sad to say that I barely got any plants from my system over the last 12 months. Neglect, caterpillars and being pushed for time has left my AP pretty worse for wear.

Excellent news on the new tank! I have recently got a new tank myself. 4x2x2 is not a bad little upgrade. I have huge amounts of work to do on it. There is a photo on my blog if you want a look. I don't know how to put the image on here from tapatalk. I will probably keep a build log on the PCS and my blog now I have removed any AP elements. You can bet there will be some cichlids in there. Plus the Mrs wants her own tank too :D

I had a major greenhouse white fly problem this year as I did not have time to vacuum the adults off the leaves (a surprisingly effective measure) like I did last season, so I released some Encarsia wasp parasites. They did not reduce the whitefly problem quick enough to be effective but a heap of the Greenhouse whitefly nymphs were parasitised by the end of the season. The black forms are parasitized nymphs. They may have more of an effect next season.

enjoying a well earned break in Bali. staying in a villa with its own pool. so much aquaponic potential i tell the missus. we could turn the pool into a pond for the fish and the sun deck would be great for the growbeds. perfect i says and start planning. the missus has banned any more talk of aquaponics. i cant see why?

hi Charlie and Mattyoga and the rest of the gang; I'm baaaack.
Not had a lot of time to post on the forum as work and home have been very busy.
I have really missed my daily dose of the forum.
Plants going fantastic. I will post some photos on the weekend. Trout are going great but not so big as before as they only get fed once a day. Silvers still tonking along and getting massive. I have had them so long now we are on first name terms.
How is the new place going Charlie? Have you started a thread so we can see your new setup?
Cheers Marc

Yay! great to have you back Marc.

Mate, life has been getting in the way for progress for me since the move but we have started towards our small scale hobby farm dreams so enjoying that.

Looking forward to system pics.
