After cleaning out one of the overgrown beds a range of fruiting vegetables were planted such as zucchini, rockmelon amd capsicums. The pictures show the growth after 3 weeks.

The zucchini has its first female flower open today and I have taken a few photos to show how I leave nothing to chance and polinate them myself for anyone interested.

The male flower petals are peeled away to make a paintbrush and lightly dusted onto the female.

Good idea, but Iwonder if it is starting to cool and we have had the hottest part of the year already, might be worth waiting until next year? These fruit need hot weather to develop their sweetnes in their final stages.

wow nice melon's faye :) .

so when do we get to see some pics of the barra? they must be getting pretty big now. i reckon time to go hard on the feed to get them huge. just keep an eye on ammonia and DO. your system must have pretty good bufferage by now. it might be worth chucking in a few more airstones for good measure. just a thought.

Or take out a few for the Barra on the Barbie night tonight, just to impress the visitors. They are presently purging themselves ready for the hot coals. Should have pics tomorrow.
