Hi FB,
Earlier on I was saying that the trout that I got seem to be of different colours, ie some look like rainbows, ie darkish tops with multicoloured sides. and some seem to look like browns ie their kind of tan with brown spots.
They all came out of the same tank at Golden Ponds. Do you think they may be browns and rainbows, Sorry dont have any decent pics.

sorry skipd i cant help you there especially without pics but i owuld be surprised if GP sold you browns, but you never know. i think only rainbows have the red line down the side?? perhaps someone with trout experience will help out here

Highly unlikely you got browns Skipd.

Harvested the rest of the barra, weight 400-700gms.... One was 167gm runt but the dog got that one .... :s

yeah trout will be here lunchtime are you running trout this winter cd?

smoked them on the BBQ as per usual. this time we used a smoking box/tray thing from B with chikory (hikory?) lumps instead of dust. put this over the grill, and put the fish on a rack over the hot plate (other side of the BBQ. then only lit the grill burners, so it was a little bit more of a cold smoke, if you know what i mean. worked a charm. the fillets especially were beaut, i might bring some to garden week on sunday for lunch
