Rhubarb is doing well in one of our systems at the shop and we've had two people asking whether they can get rhubarb seed just recently... I guess Faye was listening I noticed today that we now have in rhubarb seedlings, I didn;t even know you could buy them in punnets as seedlings... :dontknow:

I have a quick question about your loop siphons....

Are they made from the el-cheapo 19mm tube from B? I was going to buy some for this purpose but it seems awfully stiff!! When I tried to bend it into a loop shape around the required size it caused a bend in one spot, kinking the hose.... Is the more expensive stuff from proper irrigation shops any more flexible?

Would appreciate some advice on the best hose for the job.

Cheers :)

Hey antisense:
FWIW I put very short segments of PVC pipe at the tops of my loop siphons to keep them from kinking, you might try that. I used regular garden hose for the loops.

Probably would do that with all this talk about leaching.

I think there are kink free pipe or just use regular pressure pipe+ fittings to make the loop.

Use 25mm "soft" tubing... not the "hard" stuff...

Bunnings should have it... if not most hydroponic shops/suppliers definitly will....

Rhubarb supposedly makes good wine. It's on my to do wine list. But, it takes a little more work than the average country wine due to its high acid nature.

I've moved Pete... still in Gerringong...

Wasn't a matter so much of the landlord complaining... just priced me out.... and is apparantly going to re-rent (for a while anyway) at about $100/week more than I was paying....

Rents are just bizzare around here... averaging about $400-$450 a week...

Per Week ! According to the conversion calculator that's $408 to $459 U.S. per week - very expensive rent for an apartment or even a house here. Have to be a really nice place for that amount.
