I am still running my trout, as the weather has been cold. Tank averaging 15 degrees got into low twenties during the hot spell a few weeks back, but managed to keep everyone happy. The forecast for next few days seems to indicate that the trout will have to go and I will have to get some silvers soon.

Next year im going to have another fishtank on the system, to keep my silvers in while i farm trout, that way i will be able to keep them as long as i need too and still have the silvers going, i think its a near necessary for us to do this as they overlap seasons and both need the longest time to grow, then i will be able to put the next batch of silver babies in when i harvest the trout.

Had the same idea, phase two of my system includes an additional FT and fingerling tank for the reasons you list.

not sure if you can source from another farm out of state... might be border protections in place but im sure if its allowed you could source them from glenwaters native fish in vic and get them sent in overnight air mail...

Got cucumbers turning up everywhere finally!!!!

Just time for the Zucchinis to start!

New sump is sinking into place, might have to re ' Align it at some point but i'll let it go for now.

Just realised today that i havnt had too play with any of my siphons for weeks now, they just run all day.... pump is now running much better flow with the less distance it has to push flow, will add the venturi again today.

Cheers faye!! yes Sneaky toes around there :P

Strawberries flowered and fruited when i first planted, then with the cold weather and guessing PH spikes etc they went into reproduction mode. hoping to see them go back to fruiting when the weather warms up a bit as we are only just starting to crack the late 20's mid 30's now, at least when they flower this time iv got 20 x the plants now, crowns are throwing roots everywhere.

also now weather is warming the silvers are really cleaning my tank up of any left over food and algea, and they are feeding well with tank temps 20+ so hope to see an influx of neuts in the next few weeks to really bounce the plants up!

Good stuff Jamey, and yes this warmer weather is showing some immediate growth spurts. Crazy how the plants roots in AP can get temps varying so much more than they would in the dirt, and to see the growth spurts happen.
Hows the corn coming on :wave1:

just noticed in my Perlite wicking pot, that the corn seeds have sprouted already... 3 days in

going to get some more perlite today and another couple of tubs to make another one and get some more seeds in.

the growth season is upon us!!!!

Also noticed a lot of fish waste on the bottom of my tank this morning after there morning feed... they are getting the hang of it now.

might go out to b and source myself a 6-8000 lph pump soon and run the inlet to the FT through 20mm PVC running as a shower over one end of the tank and then put the exsisting 3000 in the tank purely for swirling the tank up and a venturi.

i want to get another IBC soon and make another 750L Tank and another Growbed (might retire the small pool bed) so it can all be in and ready for the next Batch of trout. the bigger pump will allow me to run enough flow through both tanks, and with the extra sump i will be able to easily acomodate the next growbed. then this shall be the finish of that system.

My Big plans int he new year will leave me not a great deal of money or time to expand the system nor will i need too :D

i cant wait to share the new Plans with all, but still keeping under wraps for a little longer.
