Totally worn out today...yesterday me and one other guy got all the concrete broken up and piled in the driveway. Hard work is an understatement. Now I just need to figure out what to do with it....

It will still be a few weeks before I get the back yard back to order. Then I'll start the work on doing it myself. I'm going to go with ferrocement as I can do it over time and can get a more natural look. I've been looking at what some people can do with ferrocement....I want a stargate!

Make sure you allow for piping inside to install christmas lights of the 39 gate symbols!

Been muling over ideas on how I could get a water fall inside that would fill the whole gate...nothing solid yet.

Sorry to hear of your woes Dejavoodoo, however it sounds like out of all the pain and suffering you may actually come up with something far greater than what you could have imagined. :support:
Hopefully your cloud will have a silver lining.

Deja -

I found an article last night on a guy that built a raised bed garden out of ferrocement in his backyard. I don't know if you were kidding about doing that yourself or not. Here's the link:

http://www.ruralize.com/Genes%20Projects/ferrocement/ferrocement%20garden%20bed.html

I'd be willing to help with that project if you go that route. I'm interested in ferrocement construction. I have no training in it or even mortar skills, but I'd work for cheap!

I'd love some help! And thanks for the link! I had not even thought of making the tanks in pieces on the ground and then fitting them together. For what I have in mind, that will be perfect! Anyway, I still have a lot of site work to do. If anyone needs some broken concrete...come and get it!

Dough!!! To hot for trout now. Went out to take a look, had a growbed with very little water going in....dead trout blocking the overflow. Now I know the trout season in my yard...just a few months. Not cold for long enough to justify the cost.

I'm not sure you will all appreciate this one (maybe Faye will). When I first started my IBC system, I threw a bunch of wild flower seeds in one corner. The first season, nothing but what looked like grass came up. I just left them there this whole time...and today finally....a Flower! Just one and it is small - but it sure is pretty! I'll get a picture of it tomorrow when it is light.

I also got a couple rescue rabbits today. They are in pretty sorry condition, but this weekend I'll get them each in there own cages and give them plenty of grazing time...they will be ok. Lopp ears - could have been pretty sweet rabbits, but have been pretty neglected. Not to sure what to do with them, other then just enjoy them - too small to be meat rabbits, and to neglected to ever really be tame. I'm sure the kids will have fun with them.

I''ve got an idea, find out where the bloke lives and hire a bobcat and tipper for a few hours and dump the lot in his driveway! Then send him the invoice for the bobcat and tipper.
