water temp was down to 16oC last night, I'll stick to what I said, 15th April I'll make a decision

I'm going Trout, shame there aint many Canberrans doing it, I could do a bulk order.

I was talking to a friend of my who was visiting us, he is Phd in biology, specializing on environmental - he designs systems for cleaning up toxic waste. VERY interesting to talk with.

I was mentioning my issue with trout (i.e. I thought it was too warm) and he told me all I needed was an evaporator to drop it down enough. If fact, I am going to check my water temperator because it might be low enough - with all the gravel, it does act like an evaporator in a way.

Wouldn't the gravel heat up in the sun and end up warming it up more than cooling it?

It certainly does here in Kal, I had heaps of trouble with my origional pipe system, recorded water temps in the high thirties in the middle of summer.

Not too much to report exept it looks like the system has cycled and the plants are growing quick.
The home comp has a multitude of virus' in it (ya just can't trust porn sites can ya  ) so I will take some pics later and send via work comp  .

The fish are growing well and no deaths so far and when I catch up with OBO we will discuss trout.

P.s. Troutman, I cant get to the second PM you sent, could you please send again. regs gnash

Silver perch made the drive - aparently trout may not. I would like 30 or so, I suppose. Really depends on the price.

Another road trip happend over the weekend to pick up trout.

Outback and I must be the first to bring live rainbows to the goldfields.

I am very impressed with the two new battery aerators I purchased before the trip @ $20ea
they use 1 D cell each and ran all the way back, I did and experiment last night and left one running in the big tank and it is STILL going now well after 24 hours.
