just and update on the growth, the caterpillars are raging along.

joking really the dipel and picking seems to be keeping the caterpillars under control but I need to thin the lettuce out a bit.

the zucchini just shrivelled and died.

so I picked about 2 dozen caterpillars from the lettuce.

mostly black furry ones and smaller green ones, I guess the later are from the diamond back moth?

Been chucking them into the FT, fish don't seem to be to interested in eating them?
So hopefully the yabbies get them, not sure where they go but they seem to disappear?

Chooks love the caterpillars.

I love your bokchoy and lettuce spacing - so bountiful.

You could try some chilli/garlic spray - seems to work well against aphids and ants - takes a good doseing to kill caterpillers.

Slowboat, did you confirm the tastiness of caterpillars by consuming them with your lettuce? Were they the hairy ones or the smooth green grub type?

Sorry I have been so busy, not had enough time to taste test the caterpillar recipe PLJ.

Was hoping that somebody could try it for me...

if anybody is interested I have black hairy ones and the smooth green ones, free to a good home.

the peas are going crazy, problem is been eating them so much its brought back the gout!

Dam Painful that is.

the Beans carked it, too cold I guess?

I have let the bok choi go to seed, how hard is it to make mustard?

16 deg in the FT and the SP and Yabbies are coming out to play, well eat anyhow.

the SP get floating pellets in the morning but also smash the yabbie pellets at night.

Gotta love em.....

Had a mate who came home to find out his missus had cleaned up his house for him. Even polished his acoustic guitar and removed that old stain from the front. :dontknow:

It was a signature guitar signed by Eric Clapton. She is still paying for that one... :upset:

Hey slow boat just wondering if you have tried any caterpillar killer or TB I think it's called its a bacteria that is only active in the stomach of caterpillar or moths and should be safe for ap.
