Made the bottoms of the SLO yesterday. Found the big yabbie in the piping to the GB. Tried to flush it out but it wouldnt move. Tried pushing it with the water pipe it didnt move so i will just leave it till it dies or gets pushed to the end where i can open it.

If you leave the yabby in the pipe it will not die for a long time but when it does the ammonia spike it causes will probably kill all your fish.
The slots in the SLO bottoms are cut with a 6mm wide angle grinder wheel.

Any ideas to flush it out mantis?

Wouldnt it get tired and the water pressure force it to the end of the piping?

I tried closing all the GB ball valves so all the water goes to the end of the piping where i have a 90" bend into the GB so but that dumb ass is hanging on.

I tried to use a hose to squirt it out with no luck either.

I have heaps of floating things in my tank. I see some poo floating (not very much and my slo is usually pretty good at removing it pretty quickly) but i think its finer particles which prevent me from seeing the bottom properly. Anyone have any ideas?

I have reduced the feeding too just in case its that. I checked the returns from the GB and its all clear.

They are kind of coming to the surface :shifty:

Looks pretty normal to me. My water is never toatally free from little particles.
My trout mostly come to th esurface after i put the cover back :dontknow: I thought they might get a bit more relaxed but they still dont trust me....

Problem is i cant see the trout properly and maybe the particles are stopping them seeing me/the food so they dont really come to the surface. They did come up about 10cm from the top of the FT but still not at the top.
