okay so have gotten my arse into gear and all of my growbeds are now full of gravel and humming away. My tomatoes have survived better than most other people in brisbane and are still producing fruit for me.
Hae a supplier of salad seedlings for 25c each at the local market so have utilised her and now have a lot of lettuce and silverbeet and spring onions in the growbeds. The silver perch have never risen to eat but the food dissapears so I am assuming they are eating it. Some ends up on the beds but not a lot and am feeding a handful every other day.

I have taken the recommendations on the tomatoes culturing and all of the plants are like this and not only do they seem to be doing better, it is alot easier to pick them. I normally pick them as they are starting to show color and let them ripen inside on a window seal to a rich red color.

The water temp. ranges from 9-14 degrees C through out the day but the only thing that has died in the tank was my pleco :(

any way here are some pictures.

they are actually spring onions and yes definately broad beans. Dad said mum and he loved them so I thought yeah it's your backyard so I will plant some for you. Didn't do much for a while but then when it got really cold they grew really fast.

Les I have planted some more but am slowly trying to raise the level of the gravel as the plants grow so have reserve waiting to be spread.

The GH will have to wait for a long while but as said earlier am interested in getting trout at the beginnning of winter and growing them out till it gets too warm and then smoking and freezing the lot, just a thought but will start a new thread on it sometime in the future.
