Also... 800l is not much I would agree.

3.142*0.5^2 = 0.2 square metres... cross section of pipe. Half pipe = 0.1 square metres
so 8 metres (4x 2m GB) of the stuff is 0.8 cubic metres or 800l
this gives you a 400 - 800l tank capacity. or based on your 4x3 m pond, 60 - 110ml useable depth.

Might I also suggest you utilise the extra depth you will have with some external GBs? or perhaps you could rig a two layer GB, such that you can still get under and double the size of your GBs?

Wow, you're a star !!! That is exactly how I envisage it. I'm not overly stressed by the GB capacity at this stage. I just want to build it and then add to it as circumstances change. Thanks a STACK for your effort.

here is how I draw half pipes (the greenhouse is a half pipe):
start with a blank page
draw a circle the outside size of the pipe
next draw another one inside it using the offset tool
insert the pipe wall thickness (bottom right corner of your screen)
this will give you two concentric circles, spaced at pipe wall thickness
click on the inner circle and delete it
leaves you with only the wall of the pipe
draw a line from side to side and delete all on one side of it
leaves you with only the wall of the half pipe
next use the push/pull tool to extend this to the length you want
(again bottom right corner of your screen)
you now have a half pipe with the right dimensions and the right length
double click on it and convert it into a component, attribute a name to it

next double click on the component to open it,
select all elements (control A)
click on materials, choose your material (in the greenhouse case library translucent, choose the color you want)
then "pour" the material over the selected elements

sounds complicated, bu in fact is easy

Skills are easily accepted... because they almost always demonstrated and apparant...

Ideas and experiments are welcomed... in expectation that they will be demonstrated... and accepted....

Postulations and assertions of absolute truths.... especially if they fly in the face of previously demonstrated ideas and experiments.... nah ... I take them with a grain of salt...

But will happily accept them as new knowledge.... if they're demonstrated....

I would love to have done this but the pond is too shallow. Only 600mm at the shallow side and 1.2m at the deep end. Even if I raised the GB's quite high I'd still knock my head (I'm 1.83m tall !!)
