It might. I had nitrate through the roof but the plant growth was not that great. Different story when I dumped some of the water on the lawn.
I will change it a little once my system finishes cycling. But I've noticed that others have quick flood and drain cycles. Might be the age of the system.

I have gone everywhere from 2 minute cycles to 24 hour cycles - there is no real big difference, as long as the plants get a bit of dry time they dont seem to mind.

Put 250ml of seasol into your system in one go, with the pumps running for a couple of hours aftwerwards, then leave it alone for a fortnight. You'll be surprised.

Will this hurt my littlle iddy biddy fishies that just came out of my dam? They are only a very skinny 20mm and i probaly lost a quarter of them in the first 24hrs, but they seem to be happy at the moment.

I have not heard of seasol killing anything unless you turn the water very black with it.

My little iddy biddy fish did not do so well. I reackon there are only about 10 or so left, but i dont really know but i only see one or two occasionally.

On a brighter note my system seems to have cycled and the water is clear and plants look health at last. I filled the last 5 tubs in my current system plan and will plant them out as soon as i get time.

I also caught about 15 yabbies the other day. I ate the big ones, but now have about 10 little ones in the sump tank and they have cleaned up the bottom of the tanks (bathtubs) a treat.

Does anyone know what o should feed them?

Merry Christmas to All.

I just created some more surface area...
by putting some plastic mesh rolled up  30mm x 30mm
then the crustatia can continue to graze.
If it gets over grown you can take it out 8)
