So many photo's so little time. This is the the basic setup. Next is the gravel.

Looking good - always good to see progress

Got the larger gravel in the bottoms. Have ordered the smaller gravel to fill them the rest of the way. Looking at the space I should be able to get 8 barrels per PVC return line.

Yay for barrels

Hooked up a davey pressure pump with 13mm tube to get things started before the 40mm PVC is installed. Wow that pump filled 3 barrels in no time. And the smaller gravel is getting here on Tue. That should make it even faster to fill. Wonder how fast the pool pump is going to fill the barrels. Is it okay to fill 3 barrels in 30 seconds. Going to have to add more barrels or have an overflow going back into the pool.

Still waiting on the gravel. Country next day means next after 2. Started to make a bio filter filled with 5mm cuttings of 13mm black tube.
The algae is growing well. Think its eating the ammonia, was first test. How much Am would you have to add to 55kl pool to get a reading?

Lots and Lots

To see any readings in that pool you'll need either really bad filtration, or sheetload of fish, like 1000's

My other half would not be able to make up enough names.
Might have to get a carton and see if I can make a difference. It's a dirty job but someone has to do it.

I cant make a difference in 8000 l, and I have lots of homebrew....

What level of Am do you need to get the bacteria going quickly. And in 55kl how much urea whould you have to dose it with. No fishies.

1 to 2 ammonia on the chart, if you get too much it retards the bacteria growth.

Dont clean the pool, just add more beds
