Finish siding , gable ends- T1-11, prime/pait them. Hang doors. Install gable trim, ridge vent, have about 200 m ore screw on roof to do. Getting close. You can see the depression at the end of the 1 picture. That;s location of FT's.

Hey coach, just noticed this thread. Great start! I do have one bit of critical feedback : 5200= wrong choice for most applications. Bait tanks are open systems, RAS is not. The only place 5200 really has is on underwater thruhulls. I would use 4000uv in most other situations on a boat. I would just buy aquarium silicone for any sealing jobs on your RAS system.

Thanks Ron. My brother has been in the fiberglass/boat building business for around 30 years. They use 5200 on through-hull, transoms, stringers, hatches, etc. He uses it on all his pool installs as well. I've talked to a few guys who have built very large custom aquariums, and they have given me the nod to 5200 as well. I'll look into the silicon, but probably go with the extra strength and adhesion of the 5200. he has had problems with silicon breaking down after 5-7 years. He's taken apart 5200 parts 20 plus years that were still perfect. You won't reuse fittings after 5200. I think it stands for never get apart again. But, for these bottom drains...that's my plan.

Yea, but 4000UV will adhere until you choose to take it apart. 5200 does not give you the choice. It is not like you need to be loyal to 5200, 4000UV is what 3M would say to use. (Though they would not likely say that it is fish safe, not that it "not" fish safe, just that their lawyers don't let them say something unless it is designed to be that way.)

Good point, if I HAD to take it apart, then the 4000 would be a better option. I'll look into the 4000 a bit more. Haven't seen anyone locally who carries it.

Weather permitting, all the siding will be done today! Just gables and door install to be done with all exterior work. Can't wait to start running electric and setting up tanks.

Done with all siding! Hang the doors, install trim pieces and about 250 more Tex screws, and she'll be ready for wiring, insulation, and getting some tanks installed! i think I'm going to like the 30 year galvalume siding, but it is time consuming. I figure, I'll have close to 1700 screws in the puppy by the time I'm done. That's quite a few holes drilled and screws set.

Thanks guys. My brother said the same thing about his house. He lives in a small frame house South of us. He said "This damn thing is bigger then my house." When I asked how big is his house, it is indeed slightly smaller then my FT. But, he lives alone, and it's paid for. So, if I get in a fight with the wife, I can stay in the fish house.lol Hoping to be able to have the plumbing started before too long.

Coach, You can never build a fish house too big. Don't forget the refrigerator. :)
