whats that stevo....ALL the silvers are dead?

Well, a hell of a lot of them, put it that way.

I sunk a net to catch some for Emir and there were many more at the bottom of the tank near death than just the 18 that had floated in the passed 3 days.

I can tell you what its NOT;

Its NOT ammonia in my tank

Its NOT nitrite in my tank

Its NOT my PH (7.2)

Its NOT my water quality as i have 10 BIG trout in a connected tank that are fighting fit, and you'd think that if there was a problem with the water they would suffer first, wouldn't you?

tell ya what i'm megga happy with the trouts performace..............more so than silvers...................... they will be a REGULAR winter fixture for my AP

Me too, that's why I'm messing with the idea of cooling the water over summer. Im hoping to eat the fish over summer but not to completly empty the tank so that I can keep everything ticking over for when I buy the new fingerlings in Feb or March.

Hey Steve, with all this sick/dying fish in your system, are you concerned about anything(diseases etc) appearing and atttacking your healthy trout? or are they separate?

Axl,

nup. i've been checking my trout daily and they're fine.

IMHO the fish have died because of extreme stress due to transport and then some of them by secondary causes due to this. MY trout are what convinces me thatmy system is fine. especially since they have been at the upper tollerance limit of 21 for a couple of days this week.

speaking of which i should prolly go outside and check them as its already 31C ambient here and its only 10:24 am :shock:
