well last afternoon, night, and this morning was spent moving my friend out of his old house, and in the process, i scored an old fish tank airreater(?spell), a small heater, and the best of all a 66L(13in High, 25in long, 14in wide) that will be my Grow Bed! im so excited i cant wait.

i have a fish tank area that is 20in wide, 20in wide, 28in high, im going to try to find a trash can to fit there.

im trying to up load this pic i took, but i have dial-up. ill post them next time im a work. thank you

i just went shopping yesterday(Thursday) and i got;

a 32 gallon trash can(fish tank, hoping to get 25 gallons of water at the lowest)$11

a 170gph pump(at 3 feet i think ill get 130gph)$22

1/2in pump tube(from pump to grow bed)$15,steep price

3/4in for my auto syphon, and over flow.$20, really wish i didn't pay that one, and just got a water hose.

air stones, ect..$11

1st off let me say, yesterday and last night my A/C was out for the hole house, man i had a bad time.

i drilled a hole for my 3/4auto syphon fitting hole on the bottom of the grow bed. then i when to seal it, and the cocking i used(the one i had in the garage) was not water sealant  . so when i filled my grow bed, it was leaking all over  .
frustrated, hot, and sweating my own pool of water. i went to wal-mart to get more cocking

water proof cocking$5

just to go back home to sleep.

tonight after work, I'm going to get my AP build on. i am hoping to get it to start cycling tonight or tomorrow, very exciting!

remember to use Fish-safe caulking or you might kill your fish. Also, Patience! The caulking needs to cure before you can be sure it will be water-tight.

DF, i just buy the caulking thats rated to AS:4020 (the australian standard for potable water) i figure that if its safe for humans its safe for fish ;) most roof and gutter sealants are now rated to this.

stay away from the kitchen and bathroom sealents i think they have an antifungal mixed in which fixes the fish real quick!

Sorry Dankfish, the official scale for AP systems is Daschunds or small children only, not coins ;)

"Mice" have been allowed in circumstances where the owner has neither a daschund or small child and only if the neighbours have been approached and declined the use of either their children or daschund

toes are fine, as long as there is a daschund in the room. In fact, toes are pretty ubiquitious around here, have we seen yours yet?

That's what I use to see if the gravel is clean enough for the GB - dip the toes in the water and see how many you can count when they are at 300mm :shaking2:
