Here is my attempt at it...

You will see in the picture that I even found a use for the middle section of the IBC that we cut up. Used it as a climbing structure for the snow peas.

Was also thinking of later using them to throw shade cloth over the entire system when it get too hot.

Still a newbie but very happy with the result. Have 100 Silvers in the fish tank which are coming along nicely.

1 x 1000 litre Fish Tank
4 x Grow Beds
2 x Sumps

I take it the 100 Silver Perch are currently small....

Frankly... 100 fish in a 1000L fish tank.. is just simply unsustainable... in the longer term...

Unless you employ solids removal... have sufficient aeration.. and water turnover.. you're doomed...

Your current system can really only sustain 40 plate sized fish...

What made you stock 100 fish??

(When did you get the Silvers.. and how big are they?)

Here is a 600 gallon system in my yard that also grows rabbits koi duck weed azolla amphipods snails and more.

260 gallon tote
Cost 200 dollar. NEED OnLY 6 WATTS PUMP.
Low maintenance. 16 pot with more than 64 plant space
100 tilapia fungerling 5 inches right now
All in an area of 4x3 feet.

PLEASE LEAVE opninion as to what I can do better. Im alway in the forum reading newbie info. Even though I have been doing aquapnic for a year.

opinions? I think you will have lots of algae growing in these pots pretty soon, just before they fall apart due to not being uv rated in the hot Florida Sun.

100 fish sounds a lot and the ratio from ft volume to gb doesn't look right.

What are you feeding them? Looks like a bag of goldfish flakes at the front. I read somewhere that this food isn't for Aquaponics because it just keeps your fish alive but no excess nutrients.

basically the idea is good to save wherever you can but it can go wrong very quick (leaking container, loss of water, loss of fish and plants)

No dead fish. The plants are growing great. You are right on the leaking. But was resolve with lowering the pump rate to 150 gph instead of 500 gph.
I put on some aeration for the pond but so far so good.

the system is so successful ( been running for a month) that I decided to built a 45 container pot system with 500 tilapia fingerling.
Will prob post a new forum for that.

Some of that timber looks like treated pine, if it is, you don't want any water that has been in contact with it getting into your system water, as it will contain Copper, Chromium and Arsenic.

So successful after a month? I think your going to have fish deaths very soon

Algae a problem with those clear containers?
Is 100 talapia in that space animal cruelty>?

Running about 6 weeks. Singleton NSW.
2 x 1400L FT and so far 3 x 500L GB.
FT's are the highest point. Overflow (can never accidentally empty FT) goes to GB's with siphons and then to IBC sump. Single pump runs all day and 15min each hour at night. GB's fill in 9 mins and drain in 1.5 min.
FT turnover is roughly 1.5 hr - guestimate.

80L/min air pump runs near continuously 4 big stones each tank including a bioball bacteria house.
Total power use pump and air is 110W, being a bit less than 2kwh a day.

Yes the FT to GB volume ratio is wrong but stocking is very low, which I believe is no problem.
Tank 1: 6 x 40cm Koi (1kg ea?), 20 x 5cm Koi in floating basket (total 200g?) and 102 x 8cm silver perch in floating basket (say 2kg??). Total 8kg.

Tank 2: 30 x 20cm barramundi. (150g x 30 = guess 4.5Kg)
6 slime eating snails :-) Total fish load <13kg eating much less than 1%/day.

April 2014 I have no choice but to harvest/freeze all barra, then SP will have one tank to themself to grow at whatever rate they manage.

I have 5 identical GB's to add as fish load, time and plumbing allows.

Plans include extra FT's to allow more segregation of species/sizes.
Integration of solar water heating to keep temps livable during winter - and a bit higher for barra in this cold summer...
UPS to cover power outages.

700L fish tank, approx 230L Grow Bed 3/4inch gravel, and 230L DWC Floating Raft
