I am also from Portugal. I live close to Porto.

I am just starting with aquaponics and plan on building my first system any time soon.

I like you system and I think you made a very wise choice of materials.

The expanded clay is commonly called "LECA" here in Portugal. You can find it in any local hardware store or in the big stores like AKI, MAXMAT, Leroy Merlin.

I hope we can learn from each other experiences.
