hahahah those are cedar sawdust bales, and they are still there, and I only shoot targets and sometiems animals. This past fall I missed a big 5x5 bull elk at 35 yards, so I don't always shoot animals :)

I do kayak Michael, but not too often. I have been in Alaska for the past 4 summers guiding, so this is my fisrt summer since I was 18 that I'll have some freetime and live in western Washington State. When I do kayak its usually to go fishing, and I'll probably try to get a sit-on-top kayak that I can freedive spearfish from.
For anyone interested in fishing, I was fishing the upper Sol Duc with hardware today and hooked 3 chromers, one about 18 and lost them ALL (!) and had one big buck over 20 pounds follow right to my feet and All but lick the spinner!!!!!

But to stay on topic, I'll be doing more greenhouse work to come tonight after Dinner.

Thanks
J

Bloody 'Ell - you come to the right bloke to find out about 'Ells

What you do is change it to read:

Hahaha I'm sure I'll be doing it like 'Ell but with yellow perch here in no time at all :)

Here are some pics, one of the four main poles sunk in the ground but untrimmed (the tall one that looks crooked is still almost 20 feet high instead of 10) with the river in teh back ground. The other is of river tiny gravel/giant sand. Its a poor quality cell phone picture, but would this stuff make decent grow bed material, or should I go get pea gravel, or some of you guys/gals use large gravel. Does anyone know?

Thanks,
Justin

What the heck, here's a pic of a load of peeled cedar poles in teh back of my briar clearing machine, with a pile of metal scraps to the left and my Dad posing with the poles.

Justin,
I've got two half drums with coarse sand in them for growing root vege (carrots and beetroot). Because the sand holds so much more moisture than the gravel, you can reduce the flow in (slower fill times). It also reduces the amount of sand lost through the drain.

Thanks Jaymie, I think I'll try doing just that, growing root veggies I mean, and I forgot to mention that there is a river bar full of it a ston'es throw from my greenhouse location. :)

OK, no pictures yet, I'll get some up tomorrow. Its going to cost about $80 for 6mil greenhouse plastic to cover the whole thing for now, I might trade it for corrugated (spell check) fiberglass or something else later, but for now I need to get it covered. Aside from waiting for tank news, and/or money to go buy one, can anyone offer advice as to what I should be doing now? Should I start some seeds or just plot out my proposed system in detail or wash gravel ;)

Thanks
Justin
