in our neck of the woods, there were a set number of "boxes" in the local exchange thinggy. The Uber telco had to on-sell any free "switchy" things to any other providers, but didnt need to upgrade their existing systems, so unless you were with the Uber provider (telstra), you didnt get access. I know this because we had a tech work on our connection for 3 (THREE !) days. We fed him and coffee(d) him and loved him as one of our own. The result was we got to understand all the key words that lead to free internet for 2 entire years ( minus one accidental month payment, and one "get out of contract free" month at the end.

I think that's what the delays were about with my recent woes.

Eh?

I don't understand much of what you write, me.

I apologise to anyone who has decided to read this entire thread from the start because it looked like it might be worthwhile as a pace to learn some stuff. On the up side, it only took a few days to read, and you probably have time to look at someone else's thread before you commit to building a system.

I wonder if this thread is why my mum refuses to install an aquaponics system in her backyard?

:wave1: Hi Bullwinkle, Colum directed me to you as being 1 comfortable with the use of worm excrement in their system. i started to read ur thread, to find out more... then i went to the end of the thread and started working backwards - needless to say when i came upon this gem - i stopped!

Could you give me a sum up? (on using worm tea, not the entire thread! )

I have large sieves half buried into the growbed media, and I put my kitchen scraps directly into them.

Worms have no trouble finding their way in by themselves, but lots of people also add composting worms (or fishing bait worms)

The worms do fine in constant flood or flood and drain.

I had problems with mice in my compost heap, but not any more.

Mr Bullwinkell; Sir
Your recent misfortune has caused quite a stir here in the UK.
Although you are not mentioned personally, in dispatches, as it were.
You ticked the no publicity box!
I am sure your sufferings have been the source of the recent interest in campylobacter.
A very well known, purveyor of ladies undergarments, now issues all said fowl in a protective coating. All human contact is thus avoided before placing the item in an oven. The said protective coating only being removed after cooking.
HM Government has gone further and issued an advisory notice that all chickens should be frozen and then defrosted before cooking. Apparently cooking alone will not completely remove the risk.
We did endeavor to obtain an other opinion but unfortunately the Colonel was not available.
Titus
PS Hoping you are well and now fully recovered

Thanks for that. Do you run any filters or mineralization? Or do the worms get everything? Either way how do the plants perform?

Is there a difference in spelling between the words Ï just "pO(ch)d" an egg, and "Ï just got pO(ch)d, that extra degree really paid off!"?

I sometime wonder if you and Titus are aliens speaking in secret code to coordinate the domination of the world, or just the Murray river.

Sir
Breakfast is on me! George and Audrey will have to window shop!
Can I suggest we chose the vegetarian option and ovoid Mr Benedict's offerings!
From Soho down to Brighton i have played the silver ball.
However I find myself California dreaming on such a winter’s day.
Or we could DE Do RON RON RON DE DO RON RAY

Okay, so the first one is a Breakfast at Tiffany's reference. Hence the George Peppard (better known by my generation as Hannibal Smith) and Audrey Hepburn.
The second line is mostly lost on me, only think I can come up with is to avoid Benedict Arnold...
Pinball Wizzard off of The Who's Tommy.
A rather overplayed Mamas and Papas song.
Finally, the last line reminds me of when I was a kid, my older brother would call me Ronny Nose, because my nose ran a lot. As a child you are unaware of the things you are allergic to, in my case dog saliva.

The second line could be a reference to a favourite egg dish. As seen from the point of view of a vegan... or just a troll.

Trader Vic's, the restaurant that was started by the guy who invented the Mai tai, makes a fantastic smoked salmon eggs Benedict. That works out well for me as I have not eaten pork or beef for over half my life now.

Hi
I am sorry if you thought I was trolling or worse.
That was never my intention.
I was struck by the coincidence of your bad experience with campylobacter and the sudden intense media coverage here in the UK.
A national supermarket chain ( who I have no wish to advertise) has started selling all fresh chickens in oven ready bags. Medical advice goes further and suggests freezing with subsequent defrosting to reduce the risk.

The rest was, ‘LVI’s Linked visual images or day dreams if you prefer.
Titus
