How big a pump are you running?

Might be able to use the aquarium pump I have in the system now maybe?

Just realized I can upload photos straight from the iPhone so no excuses now!! Here's some pics of my halepenos, love these little buggers. Been pickling them in vinegar and water, delicious with Mexican :) (and just about everything else) :)

Hey Abdul, ph is on 6, sona little lower if anything. Will the ceramic things act as a buffer and bring the ph higher or make it go lower?

The ceramic should make it go higher as its marble/limestone based, but not 100% sure on that. Just crush up some seashells and get them in there. Can use washed eggshells as well I figure, they make good slow release buffers.

In any case it surely won't move your pH any lower.

Yea I also heard that same info today DEcal, an aquarist friend explained how ceramic is fired and is therefore inert.

That being said, it should make good, albeit heavy and expensive, GB media?

Thanks guys, haven't she ked the ph lately but fish are happy sonallmmust be good :dontknow:

I think these little ceramic hobbies would make good media, only problem I can see is if roots grow thru and then you gotta pick em all off every plant you pull out. Also seeds will most likely just fall thru...

Just pull em all off the roots in one tug, and can plant the seeds in little baskets or sponges or something....

inspired by mantis, i made a video of my barra . .well 2 actually. but first i had to go find the camera, which was in the dogs bed in the car under the pillows and full of sand . . .thank god its one of those 'idiot proof' cameras!

any way, heres a vid of them chilling

i think they are attracted to the blinking red light on the camera . .
and feeding .

and heres a old pic i found on the camera, of some fat trout mmmmmmmmmmmm
