Got my new pump today, whacked it in and cleaned out the pipes, system is going good again :) Fish are breathing a sigh of relief, the loan pump didn't move half as much water as the ebara!

Yep it's still going strong! I think it was the duck poo that wrecked it, long stringy fibres getting wrapped round the shaft.

I think if this one dies I'll get a chopper type or vortex pump. Sure they use more power, but I won't have to worry about blockages ever again :)

Got 100 SP delivered today! I made a big shade cloth bag for the pump so they don't get sucked up :P

Yeah mate, there's a little 'bowage' (yes, I just made up a word :P), but it's fine, my mate reinforced his but I didn't see the need too :)

That's funny my FT is a black poly from the dreaded B's. And it bows, I dont see the need to reinforce it. it just stays as round and the water doesn't spill out so why fix it when it's fine?

 on the SP you got... though a little green with envy :P I'm still trying to save up for a tank big enough to even have 50 SP fully grown swimming in it. (about 2000L ;) ).

The bowing would only become an issue as the plastics become brittle. Shouldn't be a problem with the UV stabilized stuff for quite a while.

OBO,
I read the whole thread and saw those pics...but would love to know what the system looks like now...and also would the ducks not provide some nice nutriants if they had accesss to the ponds? I realise the would chow the GB's down to nothing.
In the FT if you had an efficiant lifting systemm to get the gung off the bottom and into the GB's they should be an asset??
