Matt, even with quality seedling plugs from Australias leading hydroponic supplier... I could barely, even with optimum conditions... get a lettuce to harvest in 4 weeks....

Yeah,
it is a bold statement to be able to harvest a lettuce in 3-4 weeks. I've just planted some seedlings lettuce and I'll keep and eye on them as to there growth.

Regards
Matt

We managed to get lettuce to harvest at 4 weeks, but they were large seedlings when they went in and perhaps they weren't full commercial size, if there is such a thing...

Yeah - did the same thing ourselves the other day... when you have 21 beds and only 4 have anything in them... you get sick of seeing gravel :(

 Bought a Thai chilli when we went shopping... not game to try them yet either until we find someone whose tried them before us  gorgeous colours though... red, pink, purple, orange...

I think our chilli aversion is from residual sibling scarring tho... have a sister who reckons its hillarious to put those little habanero (sp) chillis in peoples salads and see the reaction... cruel

Sounds like its going great... and cant wait to see the pics!!!

Yo Freo! Many congratulations on graduating, even though you still ahve to go to school for another year :P Wear the hat, for me the moment of realization came when they asked us to move our tassels to the left, heady stuff when four years of hard work culminates in a simple shiting of one's headgear.

The ABF, air bio filter? looks great, I made one myself too last night but nowhere near as neatly as you've done, would love to see a close up of what you did in the bottom of it.

And more importantly, the media you're using in there looks like standard aquarium ceramic rings, the kind they use in canister filters, is that what they are? I've been considering using them in AP but I though as they were ceramic, therefore marble/limestone based they would throw my pH off, do you know something I don't know?
