HI I have seen square pipes be a project for next year- might install on balcony .Getting to grips with aphids ,mites etc. Have installed incubator in the A.Q system removing hydroton stones to allow the base to penetrate the water- then replaced hydroton stones etc.- lettuce seeds covered with a plastic dome ,when plants are large enough to plant out .'Asking a question: how do you load up pictures from google plus?Cheers

Hi John

Up the top of the reply window in this forum there is a button 'Img' which does this when pressed
Code:
[img][/img]

You put your image url into the middle
i.e.
Code:
[img]www.image.jpg[/img]

so an image url that you copy from google images looks like this

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OK41 ... /photo.jpg

Right click on the image and in chrome its 'copy image url' and internet explorer its 'copy image'

then paste into the image code into the middle of the img brackets

like this

Code:
[img]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OK41nRiM7R0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAIs/PJmlFNLP-GE/s120-c/photo.jpg[/img]

The cool thing about google images is you can easily change the size with the numbers at the end of the url

.......SHRhq7DKxms/w743-h557-no/2014-03-30%2B08.32.23.jpg......

that bold bit is width and height
so you can make this smaller by just changing the w743 to w300

example

w743
Image

w300

Reference .Blocked holes in greenhouse to stop mice infestations -.The basil has taken quite a lot from insects -rather depleted .I shall try 2 tsp. Of baking powder to one cup of water see whether that does the trick. As for photographs I am having difficulty finding them on the computer.to download .Thanks Jayendra for download resizing pictures .

Do you have a PC or Mac? If PC then your most probably location is my pictures or the desktop.

So go to the picture on google + in your browser - I can see your pictures here https://plus.google.com/111674496729712 ... vQodC4IArA
then rightclick on the picture and choose 'copy picture' or 'copy image url' (depending which browser you have)

Then paste the link here with [img]at%20the%20start%20and[/img] at the end

i.e.

Code:
[img]https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/6WChbLAx2MnQO9AiLB7LA_zd1B61CtSolexNryKXXOs=w397-h223-p-no[/img]

becomes this picture

You don't 'download' them as such but rather point this site to the photo on google +

You can have both BYAP site and Google + site open at the same time and switch between the pages.

Press 'ctrl T' to create a new tab and you'll see two windows up the top :)

Those "fail safe" siphons are actually Affnan siphons. Exceptionally easy to build. The inventor of them sells them for the equivalent of £14. You wasted your money. I am actually upset that someone else is selling his siphons without giving him credit and charging significantly more than him. Black IBC totes (not topes) are available all over the world. The problem is that are usually not used to carry food grade stuff. It is not that they never are, it is just that it is difficult to find used ones that are safe.

Not sure that there is all that much credit due... depending on timing, people have been using that sought of design for many years without using a handle to describe it... perhaps it is a simple case of AFFNAN thinking of the same concept ..

As for people building systems, with all that plumbing and thinking, it is hard to understand why anyone would not build their own.. I think that the biggest difficulty is finding suitable reducer to act to speed up the syphon start...

Bulkheads are now readily available, or use a UniSeal and direct feed-thru...
