Any comments on weather or not this could work would be greatly appreciated.
I know it's a pretty dodgy sketch but I'm sure the theory is clear enough.?? :wave1:

Just remember that the max water height of the old and new ft combined will be at the level of your new slo

Yes, I was just going to add a note that the water level in the existing FT will be (already is) at / below where SLO drains into it.
So I should buy an IBC and start digging.
Thanks guys, I'm sure the miss us will be thrilled, ha ha. :flower:

I really couldn't tell from the "drawing" what was what and what are the relative heights, so before spending a lot of money, time and effort digging and plumbing, I would be sure of the design by spending five minutes with a pencil and paper to ensure all the levels will work, location of pumps and pickups etc.

Wisdom like this comes from the experience of doing it wrong the first time, too many times!

Ok, point taken, was a bit of a confusing drawing.
I hope this makes it a bit clearer.
Sizes are not to scale but water levels and tank levels are what I have in mind.

Im assuming the SLO output is actually through the side of the IBC and not above the side ?
Sorry to ask dumb questions, but sometimes dumb questions turn out to be important ;)
I guess if you run FnD that the old FT doesnt go too low.
Looks like it will work to me !

Yes SV the SLO is going to have to pass through the sidewall of the first FT.

What is the water holding volume of the GB versus the volume of water in the FT with pump in it? Or, another way, how much water is going to pumped out of the FT before water starts returning to it? It would make more sense to me to have the GB draining into the smaller FTbwith the SLO draining into the larger FT with pump?
