Hey Squatch, eventually got through your whole thread. Awesome system and building skills.

I think the front system should consist of a glass wall by the road which can be all fish tank so that passersby can see the fish and then put the grow beds behind that for a jungle effect. :D

Love the idea aside from the inevitable algae battle that I'd probably lose.

I'm afraid the front yard idea has been indefinitely scrapped. Not sure I'll ever get to it.

Right now I'm getting into woodworking in preparation for building my own cabinets for a full kitchen renovation. I was given an old 10" Craftsman Contractor table saw and an old air compressor and I picked up a bunch of tools from Craigslist to include a 10" Craftsman miter saw, 6" Rockwell/Delta jointer, 15" Craftsman drill press, Craftsman Electronic radial arm saw, can't remember the brand of the bench top drill press for smaller stuff and an old Rockwell/Delta 14" bandsaw which I'm trying to refurbish. Everything runs but needs new belts, blades and some TLC. Still waiting on a parts order from Amazon to get things moving along. I also plan to convert my small 1 car carport into my woodshop.

So yeah, I got a lot in front of me.

Sadly, the AP system has been neglected a great deal as of late since I've spent so much time on other things. Also, I have a snail and slug problem I can't seem to get rid of with conventional means and that has given the wife the heeby geebies because she's afraid to eat the vegetables from the AP because she's afraid of getting lung worm disease. So, I think I'll convert most of my growing area to taro since we don't really have enough to do anything with and the little critters don't seem to like them, probably because of the crystals in them that made your throat itchy if you don't cook them good. We do use the herbs from time to time and she likes to give away herbs and kang kong to her friends.

Truth be told, I throw away more than we eat. My oregano, kang kong and longevity greens often overflow and cascade down to the ground. Once it gets to that point I'll ask if anyone wants but if no one comes for it I chop it and send it to the compost pile.

Anyway... that's what's up at Len Fa Farms these days. Thanks for checking in and thanks for the kuddos. :D
