Taking off real well forest, did some pre-planning when planting out my 2nd system and put tomatoes, corn, basil and climbing beans furthest from the sun in the GBs - learnt this lesson from my 1st system

Forest your experience in general gardening really shows. The toms shading out the low plants can be reall problem. I learned that lesson too, and am now tossing up whether to remove a producing tom plant to allow light to new plants. Its a toss up!

Nice one Forest... I didn't think you'd be getting so much growth from your tommies yet, being a new system.. You'll be trying hard to contain those tomato monsters before you know it...

thanks everyone. I added some watercress to the fish tank on the weekend. It will be interesting to see how that goes. It is usually grown in running water but as the AP water is being pumped, I figure that might be enough. Steve told me over at the other site that oregano is difficult to grow in AP so tomorrow I'm going to transplant some of that from the garden and see if I can get it going.

The photo is flowers on the pink brandywine tomato.

Check it out.... Fantastic people, doing great stuff.... :)

Though I think initially we met at at the PRI site Rhonda... Many moons ago.... :D

Also check the permie site at http://forums.permaculture.org.au/ They have some good info on all sorts of stuff, though not quite as community minded and friendly as the ALS site...

Oh and Rhonda, I don't mind you linking anything from here to the ALS site.. :D

thank you joel. I think you're right, we did meet at the pri site.

The watercress I have is Nasturtium officinale. Is that the same as lebanese watercress?

This is it here Rhonda.. http://www.backyardaquaponics.com/forum ... hp?p=20576

The only problem I have with the name "Aethionema cordiolum" is that the first time I looked that name up when we were speaking about the plant 6 months ago, there was only one website in a world search that had that botanical name on it.. Now there are about 3 or 4 sites that have that name showing up in a search, one of them being us.. Tends to make me wonder.....
