Have you thought about putting a sprinkler on it for a while to help loosen things up? We have heavy clay here and digging always seems much easier after a good rain. And a pick-ax is a must in dirt like that.

I actually cheated when digging the hole for my IBC sump.
Got the farther inlaw down to lend a hand, He loves a good hole digging

Which way are you heading down.....Rabbit fence road from Merridin? or GEH to Perth then down? or are you cutting through on the Dangan-Mears road through Pingelly etc?

Managed to get the delivery lines down today to all but one bed...but I haven't that bed anyway as yet.
Just have to glue it all tomorrow and find a jackhammer to continue with the sump :upset:
