I don't feel I should apologize to a troll with too much testosterone asking "civil" questions that were already answered in the pages before and trying to use my thread to promote himself. Which opinion is only confirmed by "the poly carb on my greenhouse is worth more than your house" and the other comments there.

The picture of him on his FB claiming to have dig a fairly big hole says more than enough to underline my opinion about this guy. (I don't believe for even one second he dug that hole!). Why would he dig a hole like that when he has al that fantastic local labor available at a low price who could do it for him? More of the same contradictions all over his FB.

So, Chris, stay of my thread, open your own thread where you can brag, rant, call names as much as you like!

the very reason my system is running and selling into the market already is because i am a worker , i work alongside people and get the job done , i dug that in one day by the way ... it was a bet and i won ... history on my personal fb will show that ..

i have no reason to leave your thread, i think it will keep you motivated to finish , i am happy to advise you if you need help .... my first bit of advice , your hoop house is not going to work , unless you plan to instal evaps .... it will only be good around dec , jan ...

By the way , we continue to sell salad into the market , when no one has salad , we can grow it under cover , rafts of 300 ... tomatoes also ...very sweet the locals love it ... even with rain everyday ...

Fish also , easy to move at the moment ..

Action speaks louder than words old chap !!

Chris, why are you so eager to brag about your achievements on my thread, instead of opening your own thread where you can go completely nuts about all the great things you've done and will do?

Paul, I understand your comments about the locals 100%. I have been building my house for quite a while, have seen many a "craftsman" and never been impressed with their work.

I do, as U do too I'm sure, realize the average education of people here and the local issues with alcohol and other abuse.

I see people having to sell their homes because they borrowed money at 20% .... per day!!!! At the card games...

It is hard for young people to flourish in those circumstances.

But I am sure that your know-how on renewable energy and inovative construction will inspire a few locals that will, in their turn, educate others.

I am looking forward to seeing updates from you in due time, but I realize that u, as a retiree, have all the time in the world and hope u dont forget to enjoy yourselves in between projects.

Groetjes ...

Chris, Domani has requested that you stay off of his thread. Please respect that. The way to gain credibility here is to have your own thread. I suggest you start one.

@ Ron ... that all stems on an apology from Paul ...and thats not going to happen, so i will refrain from mentioning my system after this post ..

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Aquaponi ... e=bookmark

i plan to stick around and keep Paul honest ..... by asking positive questions ...

back to my original question Paul , i read back and it seems you had an injury , a dead fish , hot weather , rain .... which caused delays ... any progress to speak of in the last 6 months?

I see a concept layout for the buildings , what is your idea / design for the aquaponics system ? i believe thats been asked a few times already by others, but perhaps now you have the design complete.

What fish will you grow ?

Chris, are those gold tilapia in your system? I'm having problems getting mine to breed...any suggestions? You have my utmost respect if you dug that 6' x 15' hole by yourself in a day. Having won a few bets myself in the digging department(several years ago), and having spent 30 plus years in the landscape business, that hole required the removal of appx 16 tons of soil/dirt. Impressive, and probably not in very good shape for a few days after that one. Your system looks nice. Domani, I'm equally impressed with what you've accomplished.

Thanks for the compliment, coachchris! It's indeed very impressive, 16 tons of dirt/soil moved in one day only. If you calculate that, it comes down at (assuming a working day of 8 hours) 2 tons an hour or 33 kilo's a minute. All non stop during 8 hours in the hot sun, no shade it appears. Very impressive!!!

i have been asked to stop promoting my system and also posting inflammatory material ... however in order to not be rude coachchris , red tilapia mono sex .... no babies ...Paul 8 hrs a day is for office workers , 5am to 7pm is the norm for me , the dirt was soft, in fact like butter , the heat is no problem for me ... i come from the tropics where its much hotter and higher humidity .....yes i was wasted but a bet is a a bet ....just because you could not do it, does not mean it cannot be done ...can we agree Paul, to stop talking about my system and perhaps you can answer some of the questions i asked by design etc ? i am interested to know your plan , i also like the dome idea , not sure if you have been out to this place its about 1 1/2 hrs from you ...NE...

He build that dome cluster in about 6 weeks with help of one guy and his wife. The finishing took him a couple of months more as he said. That I believe.

All you need to know is in the previous 16 pages of this thread. If there is anything new I would like to share, you'll find it here. When are you planning to open your own system thread?

You better not look at Charlie's thread....

Just curious, why do you care so much about Pauls thread?
