Yeah i am stocked. I think my solar system has cost me around $50. Thats a 110W panel, 800Ahr of battery and the 40A controller. Not too shabby at all. Price will go up when i make the solar tracker...

Growth updates!

Crappy photos as usual. Get over it :P

Image

The brahmi is getting to be a monster. It is almost a weed now :D More than once i have thought about removing it. But it looks nice hanging over the edge :)

Image

The lettuce is growing very well. Big surprise :P The chives are also looking much happier with the cooler weather.

Image

The beets are also starting to power along. This photo really shows how heavy handed i have needed to be with the Dipel to control the caterpillars. Now it is just the grasshoppers i need to contend with :)

Image

My watermellon is also starting to recover from the caterpillar attack. I am very happy with that :)

Image

I am even getting some flowers :D

Image

Bok Choy is also starting to do some good things.

Image

Jalapeño is starting to fruit really well.

Image

Chocolate capsicum is starting to produce a lot of fruit as well. This is one of the survivors of the move. With all the extra sunlight it is like a different plant.

Image

Regular capsicum is starting to fruit as well.

Image

Habanero is also starting to blossom.

Image

Corn is starting to get some size to it.

Image

Starting to get some cherry toms too. This plant is getting massive, it is starting to all out of the grow bed!

Image

It is even taking the media with it!

This last photo just goes to show any new comers how important setting your water level below your media level is. This is after about a week of hot days with exposed water.

All in all the system has been powering along. Especially since there has been a break in the mid 40 deg C days. That has been really pushing the plants.

Surprisingly though, my house mate has had corn and watermellon in the soil. His plants have been far more successful than mine. I was expecting it to be the other way around. Although the water used to grow them is significantly higher.

Looking good rsevs, heaps of growth there.

Our watermelon, rockmelon and corn grow better in our dirt garden too. Once I was around at OBO's house and he had a rockmelon plant that was crazy out of control with massive melons on it. Mine seem to be doing better this year than last but the garden is still the winner with those few plants for us so far.

Thanks mate,

It is a standard Cos lettuce. I have been impressed with it given the heat.

The plant in the top photo? That is brahmi the memory herb :)

Nice looking Cos. Makes mine look small! :funny1: Maybe I need some more nitrates :D

Just realised that all the plants that are flowering other then the water melon have white flowers.

The plant I was referring to was to the right of the brahmi. Is it chives? If it is I hope you dont end up growing beans otherwise you may end up with a goose that lays golden eggs!!
