Charlie is probably busy harvesting Trouts.

My 30,000 litres of water hit 24 degrees today, imagine that 900 litres should have got quite a bit warmer.

Sorry guys, busy week.

Rupe :- Yea, bream were crazy, as soon as the line hit the water - it was on. Had a great time. That flatty was the best I did out of the river.

Zman :- The only pest I have an issue with from time to time is the bloody affids, they have absolutely mudered the roses out the front. If I get in early with Dipel I can keep them at bay and now that the weather is warming up the lady bugs have showed up and they help me out. Other than that I suppose Im lucky?

Col :- yep, amoung other things this past week I have harvested the trout tank, hit 27deg for a couple days so it was time. The weather has cooled back down but I wasnt comfortable sitting on the edge like that anyway. No monster trout to report as all the bigger ones died in the great power outage of september. Most around 400g.

Could you give the rest of us a bit more info on them OBO, the aphids are not a huge problem at the moment however they did get pretty bad last year, planted a heap of nasturtiums (spell?) last year but not a single one sprouted. I planted them in the dirt around the roses and in the AP and in the Veg garden but nothing! Dud seads I would say.

So heres some pics from the recent harvest, sorry been busy. I still have one in the chilly tank for summer but the rest of the mob are in the freezer inside.

The largest ones here were around 28-30cm, 380-400g. The bigger ones that died in September would probably would have been around the 500-600g mark but hey, cant count them.

Special thanks to Colin. Cheers mate.

What a fantastic way to finish off winter, bring on summer baby yea!

Really good to see you harvest your fish Charlie :thumbright: After early discussion on stocking numbers it is nice to see a successful result in the end, and really healthy looking fish too.

Nice trout Charlie..... as for aphid predators, check out a place called Bugs 4 Bugs, they sell and mail to you predatory bugs to combat just about all pests and the prices seem reasonable.
