looking at some pics, I don't think it is hole in the head. these are just big holes in various spots on the body. up to 15mm across?
The salt is in now, there is no food in there. I'll put some duckweed in for nibbles.

If it's on various spots then it's not lateral line disease. If the body has big lumps on it then it could be the dreaded Dropsy....

I have lots of photos of fish with hole in the head / lateral line disease (which I think is the same thing)

According to the web, it's a bacterial along with lateral line disease. Probably the same thing by a different name....

oh yeah, I went to take some pics of the fish about a week ago, but then the camera died :( and now all we have are the phone cameras. These are as good as they get currently
