Found out the 45l/min air pump is good up to 16 gallon compost brewer

I use the same 4l/min and get like 300+ppm of nitrates in MT during my aerobic cycle..

Dasboot,

I wish I could find them that cheap here. Is there such a thing as too much air? Or does it just become an issue of wasted energy?

Coach,

I was planning on running the air through 3/4in pvc. Then dropping into airlines like Ryan's on his backyard build. As for the calomondin, it is the first citrus tree of my expansion. It will be a high tec wicking bed construction. Built like a seeding table. Fed by an automated person. On a 3 times a week schedule. With a bucket.

Swede,

Man air doesn't go as far as I thought it would. The pump I was looking at was 1300gal/hr (21.66gal/min, 82lt/min). Which makes it undersized for a 55gal drum. I had originally thought that I could run my DWC and MT off it. Maybe I should just buy 2.

Cookie,

Just re looked at your above post "I use the same 4l/min and get like 300+ppm of nitrates in MT during my aerobic cycle.."
Did I take you right that this 4l/min was a typo for 45l/min?

Free for all question LOL When you design your system. Would you rater use 1 air pump for the entire system. To take advantage of the economy of scale. Or have several smaller pumps. For failsafe options.

I'll rather 1 main air pump and have a backup for that one air pump... simple is better in my book.

That is what I was thinking. So I must ask what is your main air pump/ Or do you not use one as your DWC is now a CF bed?

Does any one else get the feeling that building a aquaponic system. Is like building a computer. No matter how much you think you know. Or how well it is designed. There will be new information in about 2 months that makes some part of your system. Obsolete :dontknow:
