I did that last year with the ones from my out door garden. When they thaw out they seem soggy to me

They are definitely not as good as fresh. I use them the first couple months for fajitas. After that it's soups and sauces. That wicking pot I made for the pepper was an experiment so that I could bring them inside and try to overwinter. I'm going to try some small variety tomato's also. Peppers and tom's in Jan is high on my list!

Nice.

This winter will be my first go around with mature plants. I started them in the GH house this winter when it was in the 30s outside just using a little space heater. It kept in the 50s in there, but I would like to try to keep it more tropical temps. In the 70s or so, so I am going to purchase a far better heater, and have one of my customers come out and add a spot in the breaker just for it. Dang space heaters scare me, and being connected to my shop dont want anything catching on fire. So hopefully he can add that and one of those fancy CNI or whatever you call it, outlets.

Not quite sure what to do about the toms in the there right now, they are growing like crazy, I am fixing to be over run with them.

Plus I have 30 outdoor toms, but I will be using those mainly for hot sauce

You sir, are a legend! Your setup looks amazing and this has been one of the most fun threads to read.
Congratulations on an awesome greenhouse and chookpen too. It all looks really tidy and professional. Look forward to seeing more updates.
Cheers

lol, legend, far from it, just a guy that hates watching tv, and tinkers with stuff while enjoying a few beers after work :laughing3:

Went in today at lunch and picked all I could see starting to ripen before I got out of town for the weekend. Camping, running jugs and fishing for big blues and channels all weekend. Going to be nice to get away for a bit. 8)

Image

Snapped a few pics while I was in there as well. I released some ladybugs a few days ago, and they are having trouble making a dent on the aphid population. Hopefully there ratio of LBs to aphids will remain at a sustainable level the LBs wont leave for greener pastures.

Image

First jalapeno coming in, wonder how hot it will be coming from AP

Image

The strawberries are doing okay, but the health of the ones on the far side of siphons seem to be struggling a little. 2/3 of the mini beds are on constant flow because the siphons are whipping my arse.

Image

Onions are starting to bulb but look a little weird, not very healthy to me

Image

The towers pretty much suck! Pumping from sump has slowed growth to a screeching halt.

Image

Plus I still have some overflow from fish tank that dumps into sump. Thinking about adding a constant flow bed some where in between to help filter fish waste. Just not quite sure how to go about it. Was thinking maybe a 5 gal bucket or large plastic pot with some type of small tree? :dontknow: Maybe lemon or lime? Something that wouldnt get more than 4-5' tall, few okra plants? I dunno

I turned on some soothing music and this started happening

Image

I am getting a little tired of omelettes :) but its free food... well in reality probably $200 a pop

Hey, Barry White or Lionel Richie will do it everytime. Lets hope those Ladybugs have lots of babies. Looks like they got lots to feed on........

About the $200 omelettes, yeah, I know what you mean. At least you're getting some veggie to put in them. I'm having to eat plain egg and cheese right now. But they sure taste good. Nothing like fresh-out-the-butt eggs.

Just skip the spray bottle and go straight for the leaves. Almost like opening fire on the enemy. Might want to stand on a stepstool though..... ;)

I havent done a test in at least a month. When the sump pump failed I lost 50% of water and figured it would take a while to recover.

Of course, my pH, because of using well water is still sky high but............. look at the nitrates!!!!!!

Image

So, considering I only have 3 tubes. I did a retest, bring worried about nitrites.

Image

Guess this explains the huge boom in growth.

I have been feeding twice a day, and this might be the results.

That well water looks like it's going to take a bit of handling.

Nice fish East :headbang:

Hello Fellow Redneck,
Look at my experience with high Ph. Been keeping it down with small doses of muriatic acid. Try it slowly. I mix about 120 cc of 43% acid into 200 liters of water and then siphon it slowly into my sump. Keeping my ph under 8.

I will be in East TX this summer. Are you close to lake Frankston?

Your system looks great! I sure wish I had more room in the yard, or the wife would let me put more stuff in the yard! ;-)

Those bass are some good ones! Here is a nice Blue I got last year. Blue Fin Tuna that is, almost a grand!
