No change in the test readings. Fish are still happy. Added a 380ltr GB yesterday and its running on a flood & drain with a 700ltr per hr pump running all the time. Will hook up another one tomorrow.

Looks Good Dufflight. Love to see the fish. How old are they now?
Got silvers off Monya a couple of weeks ago. still small and hide around the pump.
Looking forward to a bit of growth.

Hard to tell how old as they were out of season stock. Some of them seem to be almost 30cm. I've had these ones for three weeks ish. I think. They do seem to grow fast. And I've been limiting the food until I get the Nitrite down. Hope to get the system under control by Nov because I've still got 200 fingerling's coming. But they can go in the 1000ltr tank I got for a GB. No way I'm filling that by hand. :D The 380ltr tub took an hr and a half to get the gravel in.

Another 380ltrs of gravel and I'm I still have a heap left. Thats 1560ltrs of gravel and 300ish ltrs of bio balls. Still need more. I find the temp of the gravel in the new tubs is cooler as I have the fill level right near the surface. Fish still happy and hungry.

Working on it. Did a water change and vacuumed the bottom. Still looking at the 1000ltr tub in the backyard. Would take a lot of gravel to fill. And thats after getting it over the 8foot fence to the pool ground. Make a nice float tank if I could get it inside the house. Wonder if the other half would notice it in the spare room.  :angryfire: :pain10: :(

Ordered a salt tester and a Tornado Jebao 10000 Submersible. Hope the other half does not read this forum.

Dragged the 1000ltr tank through the house today and sat it next to the pool. Because it has a threaded bung for 40mm I'm going to try one of those PVC thingies in the middle. Frack this is going to take some gravel. :(

Nearly got the 25000ltr/h pump but like the OBO way of using a few smaller pumps. Will add a couple more pumps later when the other half is not looking. :cyclopsani:

Good :)

Try to run one half of the system from a mains powered pump, and the other half from an inverter powered pump. 2 x 10,000 pumps should do your system well if they run 24/7 - you'll only be able to run at about 1/2 stocking density though.

Think about what could happen to a couple of $1000 worth of fish if all you pumps run from mains - and a major power failure happens. Airstones will tide you over for a while, but a 6 hour power cut will need some sort of pumping (once you have a lot of big fish)

Pictures.
Milk crates are to block the sun until I get the shade cloth over the beds. Each 380ltr GB has a 1000ltr/h pump going 24/7. The newest one has the water go through the white drum first to help seed the GB.
