I recently added an "off-line aerobic waste treatment pot" :D . The waste from the prefilter from the raft system gets thrown into this. I add a bit of molasses and lots of air. Currently returning about 50% of the water back to the system (after letting the solids settle) and using the rest on the avocados and dirt garden. Still to early to say of this makes any difference to the growth in the aquaponics system.

Weather has been warming. On Friday i found a trout floater in my tank and decided to pull the rest of the trout today.

Here is a few pictures of today's haul. I brought 25 trout from Gavin on 3rd May at the sales in the Cheidys car park.

I only lost the floater from Friday. The total wight of the 24 trout was 16.4 kg. After cleaning and removing heads they weighed in at 12 kg (Average 500g). The largest weighed in at 840g.

I estimate that they eat 20 kg food. Very happy :D

Here is a few pictures

Don't tell him that - he already thinks is a beau rather than a working dog.

Good sized, and reasonably consistent fish there Gabe :) How big were they to start?

What did your water temp get up to?

Gordon

Here is the water temperature over the period that i had them. The green curve shows the daily variation.

Temperatures starting hitting a few 25deg maximums towards the end.

They were ~ 180mm and estimated 100g when i got them from Troutman. So they added on avergae 0.3g/day each during the period i had them.

Cheers

Hi Boss

I use an arduino with a SD card. All "home made",

I write the data to a text file and then manipulate it with Microsoft Excel to do the graphics. It's all a bit manual but i only download the data once a quarter.

I'll post a picture of the arduino shortly.
