That would be cool.

I used to have brown house snakes and red lipped heralds. Also had a yellow bellied sand snake, cape wolf snake and a spotted or variegated bush snake (mostly at different time). Loved having them as pets. The brown house snake used to eat out of my hand. Got caned at school once as the lizard I caught for him as supper escaped my lunchbox and the guy sitting next to me screamed like a girl, after asking me to show it to him. So I got two for disrupting the class. :)

Thats quite a collection you had there, I had a few boomslang, cape cobras, mole snakes, some kind of water snake (think it was a common water snake), skaapstekers, lots of olive house snakes and my previous collection contained 3 very large puff adders. I prefer a olive house snake or a puff adder if I have a choice, both species eat very easily and are very placid, never had any issues with my puff adders exept that it scared away most of my friends and family.

Lol. I never kept any poisonous snakes. My mom was a little against it. He he he.
You sound like you were a part owner of the Fitzsimons Snake Park. :)

I didn't like the venomous buggers. Also I was only 12/13 at the time so it wouldn't have been so smart. Did kill a 6ft black mamba with a spade though. Was one of the scariest things I've ever done. 8 hrs after killing it if you smacked the body it would rise up and if you stuck a twig in it's mouth it would bite down.

Transplanted first parsley and removed most lettuce due to root rot, some other plants are suffering for some reason, the beetroot and peas are growing well, turnips and cauliflower looks good too. The root rot issue is most likely due to the rain we had last week and during the weekend and then the sudden hot sunshine.

I bought the tank in this link as a atarter while I was getting parts together to build my greenhouse AP. As it turned out, production delays caused my little unit to arrive very recently months after I built my large sys. Anyway, the concept is very similaar to your indoor FT idea. There a bit of gravel in the bottom of the FT for bacteria. A single betta provides the juice for half a dozen small plants. This tank is no larger than 8l.

I was thinking you'd be aware of it coming since the company is just up the street from you so to speak.

I'm not going to impune further on Jaco's thread but to say they delivered a very nice product. It's a complete turnkey system where they provide everything but water and a fish and the box includes a coupon for the fish.

Got the arduino thermostat board etched today, was not that easy but got it more or less right on 3rd try. Will try to do drilling and complete soldering tomorrow if I can find a smaller collet or a chuck for the dremel.
I catered for 6 relays and a header for a led display board, for now I will only solder in 1 relay and will add more when needed.

I've seen these little systems, they are adorable, but a bit on the expensive side, I will probably only start my small indoor system in a few months time, still thinking about lighting, growbed, possition etc.

Jaco, what technique do you like to use for etching your circuit boards? I tried the Citrisolv/ laser printer transfer. Is only worked so so for me...

For this board I printed tracks on transparency film and ironed it for 15min onto copper clad board, it worked pretty well but my iron was set a bit too hot so some tracks smudged, not the worst issue. I then etched it with a 1:1 hydrochloric acid/ 6% hydrogen peroxide. It etched very quickly, less than 3min. Next time I will lower iron temp and space tracks further apart, I will also increase track width. I used fritzing fab to create the layout etc, it works very well and is very easy to use.

Nice etching, especially with the tracks so close, the first double diagonal track looks as if its touching together although its probably just the photo, you'll still have to go light on the solder though.
nice work

Thanks keredg, I had a few shorted traces but that was easily fixed. There was one issue that I could not fix so I redid the board yesterday, the relay outputs was connected to N/C due to datasheet error. The board is soldered and working great, just have to get an enclosure for it.
