TCL always great looking at your garden and AP system
It looks like you create lots of garden spaces that make you want to see what's around the corner
You obviously adhere to one of the chinese proverbs that I use below
"The best fertiliser in the garden is footprints"
I'm so envious of your tropical treats, the banana and paw paw there looking very nice 8)

Those are 100 gallon Rubbermade Stock tanks. Outside size is about 30" by over 48" by 25" deep.

And the banana is doing very well in a generally constantly flooded bed, I had always been told bananas like lots of water but can't stand wet feet, go figure.

desertrat,
For some reason I thought you were probably in a nearly tropical part of your part of the world even through a desert part? Or are you up more in elevation? Anyway, I would have thought you might grow bananas in the AP.

I'm actually really shocked that particular banana is flowering/fruiting. It was only a pup (granted a nice sucker) when transplanted into that bed this past spring. I really would have expected it to need more time before sending out a flower stalk but dang it really seems to like AP.

Thats only about a year old??? Man that is so crazy, well done TCL.. Isn't it funny that many of the old rules of thumb for gardening seem to be out the window when it comes to aquaponics.

EB, no it is only fall here, remember I'm the other hemisphere. Ok, well perhaps that sucker was several months old when I planted it but it's only been in that new bed since spring and it is just the start of fall here now.

Yea the rules are hard to follow here though anyway since most gardening books are not written for my climate anyway.

Plants that dont like wet feet probably refers to plants sitting in stagnant water, not the oxygenated water that ap provides.

Well at least at the moment you can actually fit most of your system into one photo. My system stopped being photographable in one shot about 6 months in when I added the monster bed.

Oh, I've more space, it's just figuring out how to lay things out so as not to block the path and get in my own way :?

I want to figure out how to add some large water plant beds for things like water cress and more water chestnuts and perhaps some other things.
