From the Seasol web site:
Seasol is made from two species of seaweed - Bull Kelp (Durvillaea potatorum) and Knotted Kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum). It is not, by definition, a fertiliser (as it contains only marginal nitrogen and phosphorus levels), however it is a dynamic plant tonic which improves the root system and increases the reproductive capacity, thereby increasing the number of flowers per plant as well as the flowering season.

I don't know if Seaweed extract is the same thing, you might need to check or maybe another member can help. :dontknow:
Yesterday added plants ,added ammonia half the amount ,the ammonia levels read low,the product I have is maxi crop, might be an idea to apply maxi crop first check, ammonia levels ,then add ammonia accordingly. :?: :support:

computer went down for three days ,since picks taken..Have you any new pictures of your system? ,my garden is very small ,so I am limited as to building more systems ,the original system need modifying ,also plan to build a pipe system .It will go along the wall of the greenhouse ,useful to over winter geraniums in winter- ",they seem to do well in the aquaponics system.". I am hoping the nitrite levels are subsiding ,have acquired a bottle of ammonia ,"that will give me a more control on dosage . Cheers

My system isn't doing that well at the moment and I don't have the money to finish it so I'm just plodding along until I get my tax return. I've got 8 Koi and 6 Goldfish which range in size from about 80mm to around 140mm and they all seem healthy. I've had the Koi for about 6-8 weeks and I added the Goldfish 2 weeks ago and since adding the Goldies all the fish have slowed eating. I want to build a water heater like the one in the link in the earlier post and hopefully the warmer water will make a difference. Time will tell..

Hi I wished I lived nearer I would give you a hand .Surly it would be easier to buy a fish tank heater ,it would give you steady readings be much cheaper than try to make one .At the moment I am looking how to filter water from the rain tank ,I cannot get to the gutter pipe to clean ,water looks yellow in colour ,reluctant to put in A.Q. system , after buying a new water butt but ,I don't know what exactly will be filtered out ,the only good thing about using rain water you can cut P.H- levels.-".P.H "round here is about 8.5 very hard water ,well there is no ammonia in system ,nitrite levels still quite high still no nitrites ,"well slight colour in test tube ? shows whitish colour ??? :support:

Hi .looking on YouTube ,good video showing how to make a water filter ,just too buckets with a Daulton supercarb filter fitted through the first bucket ,small hole drilled, through the bottom of second t bucket to allow water through ,wing nut fits a long mount, cartridge 7" high 2" diameter ,give me a gallon of water ,enough to top up system .Water I will use from the water butt ,reason for buying filter simply that I cannot clean the gutter ,owing to an adjacent building .",you can get larger filters mine ,cost £15.00 pounds ,well worth looking on you tube ,filter arrives next week ,so will show picks .Cheers

So you'll plumb your filter into the system - only collecting rain water?

Then put an overflow pipe up high in the top bucket when there is too much rain?

Yeah you take rain water out of downpipe and plumb into top bucket - but you need an overflow pipe, out of the top bucket - incase it gets too full in a downpour, yes?

Or are you manually adding the water?
