Lol. Yeah, I checked after I posted...even if I've grossly underestimated the cost of a steel hoop house it will be cheaper, if I can bring myself to use poly pipe it will be even cheaper

Hi Iceman,

I was just wondering how you are finding the quality of that greenhouse from 'Aussie Greenhouses'? It would be good to know for future reference :thumbright:

Thanks

the quality is very good, but we don't have anything to compare it too. it is a sproutwell greenhouse sold through Aussie Greenhouses. the build is fairly easy for the standard things but then we modified things to suit our needs.

The top ones on the north side got some hail damage and also seem to be weaker in general and have some holes and cracks. I've replace some blown out panels with some heavy duty 3 ply pool covering which fitted in the other channel on the ridge piece (10mm?) But you can replace with the normal stuff also.

yeah that's a question I have been thinking about a bit too..
I have had a quick look around and I havnt noticed anyone promising that it last more than 10 years.... but maybe I havn't looked hard enough.
I guess lifespan is an area where glass is certainly better but polycarbonate is so much cheaper, easier to work with, safer, and insulates better...hmmm
by the way your build looks awesome! :headbang:
