It's the warmth that helps them germinate.

Fun fact with tomato seeds, it takes a week for them to germinate at 23C, when the temps are lower, it can take up to a month. Helps the plants start at a time they'll thrive and survive better.

Put them onto of your fridge before they germinate.

I do know feel like I'm part of the BYAP family, I have posted pictures of a hole!

Digging is always the fun bit isn't it?

Keeps it warmer on top of the fridge, allows for quicker germination of the seeds.

Foam is one thing, but I've got $50 that says when those milk crates warm up in the sun they may start bending or warping. Maybe put the blocks under the crates to reduce some weight?

How much water movement do you have? The still pictures make it look like huge amounts of rushing water.

Looks like fun though.

Looking forward to more changes and pics.

Good luck!

Hi bits....

Milk crates are holding barely any weight, just the filter itself, which wouldn't be any more then 15kg if that. Less then full milk bottles anyways. I am guilty of using milk crates for a lot of uses of the years, and have had them in hotter weather holding more. Unless you are referring to my early posts where they were holding a GB, that was rookie and has been fixed ahaha.

Ummmm I'm also guilty of having way too much water flow ahaha. My pump is 18k LPH, but I've outlined before my reasonings, so it works for me. FT has about 1200-1500 LPH going thru it, so I'm happy with that.

Yeah I'll be excited to post more photos this week as if all goes to plan, lots of action on AP front.

Thanks

The hole as it is now... 700mm deep. Lots of clay and was hard going.

If I go at current rate another 8 hours to go as I'm approx halfway ahaha

Time for a beer!

You have guessed correctly!

I'll post a photo tomorrow of how much dirt comes out.... I've seen it before on here, but still surprised at how much it was!

Holy guacamole! That looks like seriously rough going. Good effort to get that dug in only a couple of days.
Back hurting today?

Not as much as I thought. Yeah it's rather large, 1.3 wide, 1.3 deep and at least 1.7 long...

Sore tomorrow I think
