Hmmm I have a few 60ish litre tubs that I might be able to just do a roughshod CF set up with... Will have to look through my plumbing fittings box and see what I can come up with. Good idea Skeggley. Thanks :-)

Do you know what density of foam you used?

The really light stuff or the harder stuff?

There's two types in there as it's just leftovers I had.
One sheet is quite dense and hard, with no flex. The bottom sheet is a bit lighter. Not sure of specific densities though. It's not as hard as say an esky or broccoli box though. But I do have one of those for experiments too :-D

I have a refractometer if you want to test your salt levels, I also have a spare canister filter you can borrow if you need more filtration and if its still in one piece a pine rack and some tubs with a few fittings i used when i did my first AP set up off a pond that was in my house when i moved in.

Just read through posts. Very nice build you have there.
I am envious of your Koi, can't have them here.

More pics please!

Have you figured out how you're going to install your shiny new system yet?

Not yet - it's been a really big weekend on all fronts. The big party for mum's 60th, plus the Auskick final game. We played a game of Brumbies vs Mumbies this morning (just what you need after a super late night). I kicked a point! And tackled my son, which he thought was hysterical :-)

I will be setting up a system thread probably tomorrow or at least by the end of the week for the new system. Mainly to hash out ideas and get some opinions for now.

It's very exciting though. But I am still looking for bits for my current system, like rocks for the edging etc, and I still have to fix the levels.

More pics to come soon.

P.s. Floating basket failed spectacularly. It's on the bottom of the pond now, and it sent my water green - like REALLY green - overnight. So I will be doing a partial water change, filter and pump clean, and vacuum of the bottom tomorrow after work. As I said, last night was a veeeery late one, so today was very unproductive :-(

Psft, somebody forgot to put two legs on :p

Just make sure they put some supports underneath, I don't think the lip will be able to handle all the weight.

Yep it will have supports both on the sides and the bottom. Going to put a big sheet of formply in there too to spread the weight out some more as well.

Can't wait to get it all finished!

Is it just the one of those beds? Or several?

Just one bed for the pond system for now. Even if it's not filled right to the top, I will still have over 1000L of wet media in there, so enough to cope with the fish that are in there. It's ~2.1m x 1.2m x 0.45m.

Although I'd still like to take some fish out and move them to the courtyard system out the front so I can put silvers in there.

It's less important now though, since I have the new system for edibles, so I can take my time.
I need to work out what I can fit, and where, before I add more beds to this system.
There will probably be some skinny beds on the side eventually I think.
