Don't make me blush Katmac! You are too kind! Thank you.

I ended up working on some planting on the upstairs deck over the weekend and deferred the vertical garden. I still need to figure some of the plumbing out and decided not to consume the 4 day weekend on the pond and instead relax and potter instead.

So here is the bit I am a bit slow with. A chemist I am not...

Advice please on anything I should do to improve things (or If I should be concerned about things), readings have progressed thusly:

Apparently our rain water tank captures the roof run off and the the upstairs deck, now here's the problem. Upstairs deck has dogdoor. Dogs like upstairs deck and particularly like to wee on upstairs deck!

As an emergency measure I added tap water (hopefully this did not stunt bacteria production)

These are the readings for the water tank (not the pond)... And the Scottish Terrier weeing competition results are:

Great work from concept to execution. I love the Japanese theme, definitely something I'll do somewhere in my garden.

That should look awesome!

I though the Murray cod might have been a little more adventurous, hopefully they'll come out soon!

Keep us updated.

Hi Dogdoor,

It was great to meet you and see your set-up in the flesh. Very impressive.
I hope the cod have settled in. Are they feeding yet?

As you mentioned, we (Melbourne Polytechnic, formally NMIT) have many more cod available for aquaponics systems in Melbourne.

If anyone is interested give either Lachie or Scott a call on (03) 9269 1130

I will also put up some more details in the classified section.

Cheers

Hey Lachie, Good to see you on the forums.
Nice Nickname and very apt!

Thanks for the delivery we are very happy with the quality, price and health of the cod you provided and happy to recommend you to others here.

No fatalities as far as I can tell, there has been some aggression with two attached by the mouths rounding on each other. I was wondering how the cod doubled in length over night and then realized.. nope they are attached to each other. :naughty:

They are not taking much food. Just two or three pellets get eaten each night an I have been clearing any left overs after 5 minutes so as to control water quality. Not sure if they have been eating the yabbies though. Any advice on encouraging feeding would be appreciated.

I had some scary ammonia spikes which I think I have managed. My readings are improving daily.
I think I need to get some more coral medium to stabilise the ph though - re

Progress looking good. Should I be concerned at the high Nitrates?
